USA-TKJ's Partners & Affiliates

USA Traditional Kodokan Judo (USA-TKJ) is more than just a centralized national organization. Instead, the USA-TKJ is composed of Regional Judo Organizations (RJOs) that serve as State and Regional Associations under the USA-TKJ banner. Additionally, the USA-TKJ has other affiliate and partner organizations that work with us to achieve our goal to promote Judo in the United States.

Partner and affiliate Organizations are specialized organizations that have established rank, membership and promotion criteria. Those organizations accepted as Partners and Affiliates receive recognition of their member rank and validation of their rank with the USA-TKJ is automatic. The criteria and benefits of becoming a Partner or Affiliate Organization are shown below.

As the recognized USA National Judo Member of the Martial Arts International Federation (MAIF), the United States of America Traditional Kodokan Judo (USA-TKJ) provides benefits to its members among which are education, the opportunity to voice their opinions, vote their convictions, sit on committees and boards, and other functions which further the development of Judo in the United States.

The USA-TKJ works in cooperation with its Partner Martial Art Organizations (PMAO), its Regional Judo Organizations (RJO), its Affiliated Martial Art Organizations (AMAO) and is prepared to work in a positive and constructive manner with the recognized National Multi-Sports Organizations (NMSO) such as the AAU, YMCA, Boys Clubs of America and others that conduct Judo programs substantially in compliance with WJF standards.

What Our Members Are Saying

Picture
Jigoro Kano - Founder of Kodokan Judo
Bill Cooley, "The USA-TKJ does not depend on "sport judo" to train, evaluate or recognize progress of a Judoka".

Patrick Hickey, “Historic Judo concepts are crucial to maintain as more and more Judo organizations change to meet the current competition fades. USA-TKJ keeps faith with these traditional values!”
