There’s never been a better time to SHARE THE TRADITION..!!
As a USA-TKJ member for many years, I can tell you there has never been a better time to refer your students and colleagues to USA TRADITIONAL KODOKAN JUDO ®.
USA-TKJ was established on solid ground from past experience, and our goal is to maintain the fundamentals of Traditional Kodokan Judo for all who wish to practice it. Bureaucratic policies within the existing sport judo governing bodies and the constant interference in the running of clubs have resulted in a decline of judo clubs around the country.
We have all witnessed the decline in the numbers around us. The teaching of judo has become more difficult or troublesome adversely affecting the running of sport focused judo clubs. This has created a situation that more and more sport judo clubs are closing or remain dysfunctional. Poor policies and illogical expectations have faded people’s morale and faith in judo has been lost.
In USA-TKJ, we believe that many frustrated judoka are not happy and are looking for alternative solutions so that they can continue to practice and develop All of Judo on a realistic level. Clearly in the USA, there is a need for a lifeline to revive and revitalise Traditional Kodokan Judo as Prof Jigoro Kano envisioned his Art and USA-TKJ was founded precisely with the aim of providing such a lifeline.
Over the years, the USA TRADITIONAL KODOKAN JUDO ® has:
Established Special (Lower) Membership Rates for America's Youth in Judo
Developed Many Programs to Help Build Traditional Kodokan Judo in the USA
Increased awareness for Traditional Kodokan Judo in Training & Competition from Local to International Levels
Established the National Programs to promote Traditional Kodokan Judo and more coming..!!
Expanded School / Club Numbers and State Organizations Across the Nation
Represented You as the Recognized USA National Governing Body for Judo with MAIF & WJF
Provided our Judo Athletes the Opportunity to Compete at the Continental & World Levels
Established Our Rightful Place within the Leadership of the World Judo Community
Partnered with other National & International Organizations to include; United States Ju-Jitsu Federation (USJJF), USA Karate Federation (USAKF), United States Martial Arts Federation (USMAF), USA Aikido Association (USAAA), Kwanmukan (KMK), Panamerican Judo Union (PJU), World Judo Federation (WJJF), World Ju-Jitsu Federation (WJJF) and the Martial Arts International Federation (MAIF).
Created and manages the Kiai Budo Shop (www.kiaibudoshop.com) providing organization merchandise, uniforms, patches and training equipment at considerable discounts for Our Members.
